What used to be known as Stick Cricket has branched out to include Stick Football, Tennis, Baseball and Motorsports as the world’s most addictive online game threatens to infiltrate every sport on the planet. Stick Cricket, though, remains the best of the lot. The World Domination game will have you glued.
The world’s most popular cricket website - and rightly so. Its stats database remains one of the best tools for uncovering vital nuggets of information for any Test match ever played. Elsewhere, news, features, blogs, ball-by-ball coverage and archives keep the site unrivalled from any oncoming competitor.

Run by a former Cricinfo employee who brings cricket’s intricacies and nuances to life. One of the longest-running blogs, its success came off the back of the 2005 Ashes when blogging was still in its infancy. Occasionally adds humour away from cricket by expressing views on Britain and world politics.
Has been a mainstay on the internet with little change over the years. Good global news service and easily navigated. Site is enhanced by fun features including cricketing lookalikes, daily quiz and its popular Soap Box.
The magazine may have dwindled, but its website keeps readers widely informed on the world game. Popular forum suggests significant users from the sub-continent. Gives decent coverage to women’s game and has its own audio and video coverage.
The best cricket blog out there by a distance, written by The Timesstaffer Patrick Kidd. The PG Wodehouse-loving Kidd mixes his wit, wisdom and understanding of the game to great effect, posting musings on current state of English cricket as well as delving into the sport’s rich history.
Aims to be brief on comment and strong on images and uses this to great effect as the game’s global stars are given the Photoshop treatment. Each post title is well thought-out, too: Poke, Prod, Piss Offbeing one of the more recent ones. Highly refreshing.
Independent and comprehensive cricket archive with “details of as many matches, players, grounds, leagues, tournaments etc as possible”. Its Player and Scorecard Oracle is thorough.
One of the current leaders in cricket blogging, its views are unlikely to see it welcomed into the MCC World Cricket Committee anytime soon. King Cricket is a highly knowledgable poster who mainly deals in humour and the appreciation of Rob Key. Became Wisden Cricketer’s first ‘best of blogs’ winner.
A no holds-barred site and does what it says on the tin. Has a classicHeroes and Villains section dealing with a plethora of cricketers, from Sourav Ganguly to Rikki Clarke. Well worth visiting regularly.
Could only be written by an Australian, who offers his own forthright insights on the international game with more than the occasional dig at the Poms.
Hasn’t been as prominent in 2009 as in previous years, but came to the fore during England’s tour to New Zealand when Morph-style videos were posted of each day’s play using plasticine as players. In similar vein to King Cricket for its comedy values.
Unheralded website which grows in quality each year. Written by a multitude of cricket tragics, focusing on features, Fantasy Cricket and an exhaustive section on cricket book reviews.
The independent voice on West Indian cricket. Invariably deals with the latest rumblings surrounding the West Indian Cricket Board, sponsor deals and disgruntled players. Its popular blog usually garners some great rants from long-suffering supporters.
Second to Stick Cricket for addiction and to relieve boredom. Don the wicket-keeping gloves to catch the ball before it smashes your screen.
The sport's fabled magazine of the same name took a while to build its own website. However, no qualms over its current state which is full of the magazine's content, blogs and a detailed microsite for the much-admired npower Village Cup.
Another stats-based site run by Aussie archive aficionados. Prides itself in upcoming milestones and recent records. A must if you want to get one over your mates.
Relatively-new cricket site, featuring contributions from writers on the English domestic circuit and opinion from Christopher Martin-Jenkins, Jonathan Agnew and Vic Marks. Will be interesting to see how the site develops.
Prominent for its refreshing pranks and bets, notably former Kiwi opener Mark Richardson running in his Beige Brigade lycra suit. Read the story to date and peruse photo galleries of recent and past tours.
The home of cricket is a must for England fans looking to bag seats for the first Test of the summer. Lords.org gives information on every aspect of the famous ground – including honours boards – although with all its history, the site is not yet exhaustive.

Top 10 Best Health and Fitness Blogs You Don’t Know About (Until Now)

blog group
Here at DailyBurn, when we’re not building cool things, working out, or cooking up something healthy and strange in the kitchen, we’re reading our favorite blogs! Today, we bring you 10 of our favorite health and fitness blogs that may be under the radar for some of you. Check them out:

Hyperlipid
Hyperlipid is a blog written by Petro Dobromylskyj, a vet, trained at the RVC, London University. His list of academic credentials is impressive, and his writing is a thoughtful analysis of the science behind nutrition, specifically low carb diets. His analysis of scientific studies with accompanying charts is a great addition to the low carb conversation. In a sea of shallow writing about why low carb eating is best, it’s refreshing to find a blog that nutrition buffs can geek out with.
Primal Toad
Todd is a primal kinda guy with a mission: to get you to get real about food and exercise. His recipes are tasty and cost effective (he lists the price per serving for most recipes) and he breaks down the nutrition for each recipe too. He is building a robust community of primal enthusiasts, so make sure to check out his community lists. Plus, yesterday was his birthday, so stop by his blog and wish him a happy belated from us.
Ben Does Life
Ben’s story goes like this: “On Christmas Day, 2008, I made a promise to my grandmother to get a grip on my obesity, my depression, and my life. I’ve lost 120 pounds, run marathons, and finished an Ironman.” Ben is courageous and his blog is a refreshingly simple peek into the life of a man living life to the fullest. Check it out for a daily dose of inspiration.

The New Polymath
Written by performance coach Isaac Wilkins, The New Polymath is a place where a man can be a true man. According to Isaac:
“My clients are a huge priority to me and their success is my success. I have so much to thank them for as while I’ve taught them a lot about strength training and changing their bodies, they’ve taught me far more about people and life. However, all work and no play makes for a boring guy. This blog actually came about because I feel that today’s man is spending too much time as a specialized wage-slave and not living the life that he wants and maximizing his potential. I personally pursue a variety of hobbies from reading and writing (obviously) to gardening, powerlifting/strongman training, and going to rock shows. There’s nothing worse than asking someone “What do you do?” and have them say “I’m a ”, and after further questioning that’s still all they can come up with as their identity. That’s not a man, that’s an insect. A soft, weak insect. I don’t have room for them here.”
Also, check out Isaac’s essay on aggression.
Peanut Butter Fingers
Julie is a writer from Florida with a huge love of, well besides health and fitness, fashion. Check out her fashion page. We love Julie’s lifestyle blog because she seems like someone who can smile her way through even the toughest of workouts.
Miz Fit Online
Miz Fit is Carla Birnberg from Austin, TX. She has appeared in Women’s Day, Experience Life, ivillage.com, Glamour, Women’s Health, Fitness, Yahoo!, Yahoo!Shine, Yahoo!’s YourWisdom, and Runners World. She’s also a prolific vlogger. Her short video fitness tips are perfect for watching on your iPhone when you are the go.
Fit Bottomed Girls
These girls have got it going on in a big way. This blog is a one stop shop for inspiration, motivation, product reviews, and fit tips.
Green Lite Bites
This is just one of Roni Noone’s sites within her growing blog empire. This is my favorite of Roni’s blogs because she posts weekly healthy recipes with amazing images and easy to follow directions. She also allows you to search recipes by ingredient, so you will always find a way to use the random contents of your refrigerator.
Bodhi Bear
Kia is a new mom “who is not new to green or healthy living. I got through 3 yrs of a PhD program in biology while training for distance events when a car came through an intersection and interrupted my 5-year plan. Now I am rebuilding, taking my hubby and infant along for a new ride.” Her blog is a must read for moms who want to live a conscious life full of joy. Bonus – she’s a yoga teacher too! If you live in Colorado, you can look her up and take one of her classes.
Let Them Eat Meat
Rhys Southan is an ex-vegan who writes about veganism. His blog is easy to read and incredibly thoughtful. His musings on veganism and nutrition read like food philosophy. Rather than stuffing his blog full of links to thought leaders to support his case, he is the thought leader in a space that many find hard to touch: arguing against veganism in a compelling and ethically sound way.
